Genevieve Santos

Genevieve Santos is an artist/illustrator and the owner of her brand, Le Petit Elefant. If you know Genevieve, you know she loves food and travel, in no particular order. Not long ago, she fulfilled her dream of travelling to 30 countries before age 30 and she infuses this wanderlust spirit into her artwork. She has participated in various shows and galleries including WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney and Leanna Lin’s Wonderland.

Genevieve is one of the hardest-working artists you will ever know, and she handles nearly every aspect of her business, from illustrating to packaging. She is currently working on her Woman Warrior Art Series, a limited edition print series that will be released at different comic conventions throughout the year. She will have a Rose and Paige Tico set to debut at Emerald City Comic Con as well as a Princess Mononoke print for WonderCon.

Genevieve is the illustrator for the Daisy Dreamer book series. The first five books of the series came out last year, and the next two, Wishing-Well Spell and Posey, the Class Pest, will be released later this year. “Illustrating these books have been an absolute joy. From time to time, I’ll receive fan art from kids, and it’s just so cute,” she said. “I hope to eventually write and illustrate my own picture book. I have a few ideas floating around, so fingers crossed I’ll have one published in the future!”

Last year Genevieve added ‘book mobile and library card designer’ to her long list of accomplishments. She collaborated with Tamiko Rast of Rasteroids Designs in San Jose to design a book mobile for the Santa Clara City Library. The city of Santa Clara just recently debuted the book mobile to the public, and the designs were such a hit that they decided to use it for a new library card.

In July, Genevieve will debut at San Diego Comic-Con where she will have lots of new items and exclusives, including stickers, enamel pins, patches, and (hopefully) figurines. In August, she will return to Iceleand for the Light Grey Art Lab Iceland Residency. Ireland and Japan are also on her destination list for the year.

Genevieve’s works can be found online and in stores in the US and internationally. (Click here for a list of stockists.) Learn more about her on her website.
